Macarons in Target?

Yes, you’ve read that correctly.  Target (as in super duper big box store) has macarons!  They’re made under the Archer Farms label and were actually quite delicious!

There are two sizes available, a six pack and a twelve pack. Both contain six flavors: chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, coffee, raspberry, and lemon. The six pack includes one of each flavor while the twelve pack carries two.

I’m not sure you can get them at every location yet – they’re probably testing the product out at the moment. Check your local SuperTarget to see if they have them. They’ll be in the Bakery Department right by where you pick up your French bread loaves and cupcakes. Bon Appetit!

Social Safeway is BACK!

and back with a bang, it is!  Last night we had the opportunity to check out the store before it’s opening to the public this morning and I must say, watch out Whole Foods. From a nut bar (yes, I’m serious), to an extensive wine cellar (including Gaja, Insignia, and a plethora of other great bottles), to an amazing chocolate counter, it’s got just about everything you could want in a grocery store, AND MORE!  I’ll be a frequent visitor to the world cuisine section of the produce department.  Last night, it was full of fresh garbanzo beans, baby purple artichokes, miniature cauliflower and guavas – all in perfect ripe shape!  Hurry over to check it out – there will be food samplings throughout the store for the next couple of days!

Return of a Legend…

If you’re like me, you’ve had enough of Whole Food’s prices, Trader Joe’s bad produce and running to Virginia every time you need paper towels.  Well, the good news is finally here.  Our beloved Social Safeway is scheduled to open on May 6th.

And it gets better… It’s going to be open 24 hours a day!  And the store wouldn’t be complete without a sit-down sushi bar with sushi chefs, complete wine cellar, comprehensive cheese section, brick-oven pizza department, an Italian-style gelato bar, an upgraded Starbucks coffee bar, along with an indoor/outdoor seating area featuring a fireplace, HD televisions, complimentary WiFi, and open balcony overlooking Wisconsin Avenue.  How’s that for a facelift?

See you there!

Fabulous Find: Italian Cotton Ribbon

I am swoooooning over Carta, Inc’s Italian Cotton Ribbons.  They’re imported from Italy, made from 100% cotton and come in a tight weave and a loose weave.  Angela Liguori has put together a lovely palette of 20 colors in both of these weaves.  Aren’t they divine?
