Inaugural Cocktails

george_washington_standIf you’re into the history of cocktails and into politics, here’s an event for you!  

On Tuesday, January 13th, Derek Brown and Phil Greene of the Museum of the American Cocktail, renowned bartender Nick Wineriter of Rock Creek, and Mount Vernon curator Dennis Pogue, will host a 90 minute discussion of notable cocktails and libations throughout American history, beginning with George Washington’s rye distillery at Mount Vernon, and through to the present era. Drink samples will be served to attendees, as well as delicious appetizers. Sample classics such as the Ward Eight, the Rickey, the Bronx Cocktail, the Daiquiri, Navy Grog, and others.All Cocktails is Local – Presidential and Political Libations in American History
