Ice Skating in DC

Though it doesn’t have much to do with food, here is an excellent way to entertain out of town guests this holiday season!

Ice Skating at the Sculpture Garden of the National Gallery of Art is a classic tradition during the winter months here in DC. With beautiful views of the National Archives, the ice skating rink is located on the mall between the East and West Wings of the NGA. With the pavillion cafe serving food and beverages (don’t forget your flask of Bailey’s to add the coffee), a trip to the skating rink is sure to be a hit for everyone in the family!

Admission to the rink for 2 hours (and believe us – that’s plenty) is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for kids, students, and senior citizens. Rentals are an extra $3.00.

The skating rink is open:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00am – 9:00pm
Friday & Saturday: 10:00am – 11:00pm
Sunday: 11:00am – 9:00pm
